  Key Purpose of the Job:   This role (job Senior Product Engineer) is responsible for managing the relationship with VF FTW factories in the assigned sourcing cluster by focusing on adherence to quality standards, on time performance, automation and manufacturing efficiency while ensuring compliance with VF Responsible Sourcing principles.   Become integrated into every aspect of assigned partnered factories. Lead the execution of VF Product strategic initiatives in the nominated factory with special emphasis on ensuring compliance with Brand SOP and “on-time performance” obligations are being met.   Ensure quality of development samples and meet milestone dates according to the published product creation calendar   Maintain and track the commercialization timeline and additional reporting needs, and share out with FTW Functional Teams   Ensures VF CSR standards are being maintained and continually elevated for the betterment of people and the planet.      
  Key Areas of Responsibility   Support to manage the daily activities and routines in the assigned factories.   Work closely with Global Supply Planning to validate product allocation, factory capacity booking and production plans to ensure that they are viable and realistic.   Verify the execution of Pre-production trials to ensure Brand standards and requirements for the engineering and manufacturing of footwear.   Manage all pre-production and production related activities within his/her assigned factories to ensure adherence to SOP and that “on-time performance” obligations are being met.   Work independently and have strong communication skills to deal with all departments within VF, including Global Material Supply, Regional Office, and VF QA along with factory teams to execute the buys & mass production, helping to resolve problems during WIP process to achieve on-time delivery performance.             Essential Duties & Responsibilities:   Commercialization: Partner with cross functional teams including Costing, Global Supply Planning, QM and Global Material Supply to meet strategic objectives.   Work closely with and develop meaningful relationships with the vendors and factories to adapt and communicate our strategies to deliver top quality product that meets VF’s and customers’ performance requirements.   Maintain strong connectivity with Brands daily to meet product creation calendar stage gates and milestones. Pre-production:   Manage Product Engineer & activities within specific geographical locations to ensure factory’s adherence to VF FTW Brand standards   Manage the timely execution of the product creation trials (T1 through T4) to ensure that VF QA standards and requirements are met to ensure OTP.   Review and identify potential Pre-production or production issues and provide viable options or solutions to solve these problems. Communicate technical issues to VF Product Manager suggesting possible solutions which may require their approval.     Production:   Manage production related activities to ensure adherence to SOP’s, and “on time performance” obligations are being met.   Liaise with VF QA to ensure that production footwear meets VF FTW quality standards   Nurture a close working relationship/partnership with VF vendors delivering exceptional results against VF product targets.   Manage and develop all members of his/her team to ensure all VF key initiatives are met in all areas related to Global Responsible Sourcing, automation, and OG Mold Prevention initiatives.   Evaluate production line during start-up of a new model to ensure production meets required quality standards.   Verify execution of CSR internal checklist and validate completion of corrective action plans.   Collaborate with Product Managers to develop and implement best practices across regional vendor base.   Coordinate the implementation of New Product Introduction/Hyper-Care model/LEAF, and the specific actions associated to these programs   Support VF QA to stabilize and optimize the quality process within assigned factories.
